No checklist can turn an unidentified file into a trustworthy app. The aim is to understand the source and stop when important information does not match. This directory does not claim to scan, test or certify the safety of any listed application.
Establish the publisher and destination
Read the actual domain, not only the button text. Compare the operator name, app package and publisher page. A padlock or HTTPS connection relates to the connection; it does not prove that an app is genuine or appropriate. Be cautious when a link changes domains without an explanation tied to the operator.
Understand the file claim
A store page, publisher page, APK file and guide are different destinations. An “Install” label on an advertising image may have no connection with the intended app. Prefer a clear source with written app information over an unexplained download button, countdown or forced redirect. Do not download a substitute merely because the intended link is unavailable.
Keep device protection enabled
Google Play Protect checks for harmful behaviour, may warn about an app and can disable or remove harmful apps. Google recommends keeping it enabled. A lack of a warning is not a directory guarantee that an app is safe. Read the official Play Protect guidance. If you see a warning, stop and investigate rather than following instructions to defeat it.
Review access in context
Ask why an app needs a permission before allowing it. Android’s permission settings let you review and change app access; Google explains how. An operator should be able to explain its own request. Do not send a support contact account secrets to resolve a permission question.
What the directory can and cannot establish
A listing can show where a supplied fact came from and when a documented source check occurred. It cannot promise that a publisher page never changes, that a file has no harmful behaviour or that you are eligible to use an account. Owner-supplied values remain labelled as such until independent evidence supports them.
If the source does not agree with the listing, do not continue. Send the public URL and a concise explanation through the correction form, without sending an APK, identity document or app credentials.
